Tour Ireland: explore your heritage: Driver guided tour

Sample tour focuses on the ancestry of someone who knows that their family came from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland. The tour can be adapted to suit for other cities or for a more general touring experience to see Ireland and to experience the land of your forefathers.

Based on 4 people travelling together throughout the tour with a driver guide from Ireland and staying in Bed and Breakfast (B & B) accommodation, we can offer this tour for $1,300 per person subject to change based on currency exchange rates and the availability of accommodation.

The tour can be adapted to your requirements, for example a longer stay in Dublin can be arranged. The tour can take in the South of Ireland if that is where your heritage and ancestry is from.

We work with you to develop a tour to Ireland that fits with your knowledge of your family�s ancestry and home town or village, and we can also assist you with finding out more and undertaking new research.

Day 1 - September 18th
Stay on at Galway hotel this morning and do not go to airport with CIE group. Take taxi to your Bed and Breakfast Accommodation. Explore Galway in your own time. Overnight in B & B in Galway city

Day 2 - September 19th
Transfer by taxi to the port to take the Ferry to the Aran isles - all day at the isles to explore as you wish. Take a taxi tour in the Aran isles (not included in tour cost) and travel back by ferry and taxi to Galway city. Overnight in B & B in Galway city.

Day 3 - September 20th
Pick up from the hotel by driver guide. Travel via Connemara and Kylemore Abbey through the region loved by W.B. Yeats with your driver guide today, completing your journey with arrival at Overnight B & B in Donegal city.

Day 4 - September 21st
Travel with your driver guide to Enniskillen possibly visiting Belleek pottery and Belle Isle Castle - Overnight in Enniskillen Bed and Breakfast.

Day 5 - September 22nd
Free day in Enniskillen to do ancestry research. Overnight in Enniskillen Bed and Breakfast.

Day 6 - September 23rd
Free day in Enniskillen to do ancestry research. Overnight in Enniskillen Bed and Breakfast

Day 7 - September 24th
After breakfast, depart with drive guide to the Ulster American folk park. Onward to county Antrim via Derry if time - and visit the Giants Causeway World Heritage site. Travel to Belfast along the wonderful Antrim coastal route. Overnight Belfast Bed and Breakfast.

Day 8 - September 25th
Explore Belfast, and take some time to visit PRONI (Public Records Office Northern Ireland) - the official place of deposit for public records in Northern Ireland - This is the place to go to research your family history from this area. Visit the Belfast Folk and Transport Museum. Overnight Belfast Bed and Breakfast

Day 9 - September 26th
Taxi to the rail or coach station and Transfer to Dublin by train or coach from Belfast. Arrival in Dublin - Transfer to local rail station for travel to Tullamore and pick up by local taxi to hotel Free time to explore as you wish. Suggest walking tour of town of Birr and pub supper at hotel. Overnight in Birr Bed and Breakfast.

Day 10 - September 27th
Free day for exploration. Suggest Visit Birr Castle on foot direct from the hotel and enjoy lovely garden. If you wish, in the afternoon we can provide car and guide transportation for tour of the area (optional) can decide and check with hotel. Overnight in Birr Bed and Breakfast.

Day 11 - September 28th
Transfer from Birr with driver guide and vehicle or by train to Limmerick. Overnight in Limmerick Bed and Breakfast.
